Tyre Eugene Brittain

Mr. Tyre Eugene “ Gene” Brittain, age 81 of Temple formally of Douglasville, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at Tanner Medical Center of Villa Rica. He was born November 17, 1928 the son of the late Mr. Tyre Aubrey Brittain and Mrs. Elizabeth Dotson Brittain. He loved to watch a good Western movie. He was self-employed in the ceramic tile business. In addition to his parents he was preceded in the death by his wife, Nell Smith Brittain; two brothers Johnny Brittain, and Jack Brittain. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Henry “ Bud” and Anna Brittain of Temple, GA; sisters Earnestine Huff of Nashville, TN, Martha Bragg of Douglasville, GA, Rose Hogan of Douglasville, GA; brother Donald Brittain of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Amber Brittain, Amber Chastain, Nikki Brittain, Genea Brittain; great grandchildren, Alexandria Shoemake, Brianna Pipes, Cassidy and Joe Pipes, Andrew Brittain, Jessie Brittain. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica with Rev. Ricky Brittian officiating. Interment will follow at Ephesus Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
