Mrs. Velma Copeland Venable, age 91, of Temple, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012. She was born May 10, 1920 in Cleburne County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. James Madison Copeland and the late Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Bearden Copeland. She was a seamstress at Sewellâs for many years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Temple. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Henry Virgil Venable; son. William Donald Venable; daughter, Linnie Mae Venable; step-children, Cecil Venable, Ruth Thomason, Opal White, Margaret Watson and Dorothy Stokley; brothers, William Lewis Copeland and William Grady Copeland. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Anne and David Driver of Temple, June and Cecil Prince of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Wayne Venable of Temple, Harold and Jean Venable of Tampa, Fl. Mary Jim Venable; sister-in-law, Mildred Copeland of Wilmington, N. C.; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and special niece, Sandra and Kent Farley of Illinois. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 1:00 PM from Bethel Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Bobby Smallwood, Rev. Fred Cook, and Rev. Michael Causey officiating. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery with the following gentleman serving as pallbearers, Jason Driver, Phil Prince, Mark Ward, David Venable, Greg Venable and Mark Venable and honorary pallbearers, David Cooke, Larry Ayers, Dewayne Edge, Cliff Sanders, Mac Hamil, Donnie Harmon, and Mike Kinney.
