Mr. Velmon E. Ward, 72, of North Hilton Road, Winston, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. He was born August 25, 1933 in Douglas County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Thomas Ward and the late Irene Fields Ward. Mr. Ward worked as a timber dealer in the forestry industry. He enjoyed restoring 1936 Chevy cars. He served in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Allen Ward of Winston; his daughters and son-in-law, Lynda Camp of Panama City Beach, Florida, Kim Rushing of Decatur and Brandie and Chris Huddleston of Carrollton; step-daughter and her husband, Alison and Michael Turner of Canton; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Marian Ward of Temple and Rodney Ward of Temple; step-son and his wife, Darrell and Olga Kreis of Villa Rica; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Johnny Echols of Winston and Carolyn and Robert Cheek of Winston; brothers and sister-in-law, Bernon âPeteâ and Brenda Ward of Winston and John and Sue Ward of Temple; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 6:30 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Johnny White officiating.
