Vera Brouch Stroud, age 92, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, January 3, 2020. She was born November 26, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mr. William Brouch and the late Mrs. Mary Havischak Brouch. She worked as a freight industry billing clerk for many different freight lines, retiring from Carolina Freight. Ms. Stroud was a member of the Teamsters Union for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening and was proud of her yard. Ms. Stroud loved cooking and canning. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley H. Stroud, Sr.; her sons, Robert Stroud and Wesley "Hank" Stroud, Jr.; her brothers, Peter Brouch, Thomas Brouch and Daniel Brouch; and her sisters, Nettie Scibior, Stella Kryzston, Lily Baker, Helen Walker and Annie DeLeon.
Ms. Stroud is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Jim Eidson of Buchanan and Linda and Alan Sewell of Douglasville and special grand-dog, Bunni; her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Donna Stroud of Douglasville, David and Jean Stroud of Naylor and Kay Stroud of Lithia Springs; her grandchildren, Seth Parson, Becca (Ken McCarron) Parson, Rebecca (Rafe) Singer, Emily (Thomas) Rascoe, Stefanie (Adam) Maddox, April (Randy) Hutchins, Amy (Ken) Henkle, Alisa (David) Tucker, Eric Stroud, Tracy Stroud, Corey (Robyn Pack) Stroud, Cameron (Tessa) Stroud, Cole (Elizabeth Duncan) Stroud, Stacie (John) Norman, Jason Stroud and Nikkie (Wesley) Clark; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 5:00PM until 8PM. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Rutherford and Minister Mike Mallory officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Stroud, Cameron Stroud, Cole Stroud, Jason Stroud, Seth Parson, John Norman, and Adam Maddox. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Stroud, Randy Hutchins, Ken Henkle, David Tucker, Ken McCarron, Thomas Rascoe and Rafe Singer.Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
