Vera Elizabeth Turner, a cherished soul and devoted homemaker, peacefully departed from this world on July 11, 2025, at her beloved home. She was born on February 27, 1946, in the small town of Villa Rica, Georgia, to the late Mr. Raymon Prather and the late Mrs. Bertha Morris Prather.
Vera's journey through life was marked by love for her family and a steadfast devotion to her faith. Throughout her life, Vera embodied the true meaning of selflessness and strength. As a loving wife to Mr. Bobby Turner for over 63 years, she demonstrated the beauty of commitment and companionship. Vera’s proudest accomplishments were not just found in her long marriage but also in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her legacy of love and faith.
Vera had a heart that overflowed with love for babies and children. Her home was always filled with laughter and warmth. She loved to cook and she found joy in attending church, where her sweet voice would resonate through the congregation as she sang with a spirit full of devotion whenever she was able.
Her gentle and caring nature pointed all her children to Christ, instilling in them the strong values and beliefs that would guide them. Vera was a woman of God, whose faith was as resilient as her spirit. Her selfless approach to life and the support she offered her family will be profoundly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vera is preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Emerick; brother, Leonard Prather; and sister, Nadine Pritchard.
