Mrs Violet Thomas age 86 of Douglasville Ga, formally of Pelham, Al. passed away June 30, 2015. She was born on May 7, 1925 in Tuscaloosa, AL. to the late Ira and Cora (Smalley) Skelton. She is preceded in death by 8 brothers (Conner, M.C., Eldridge, Cole, Burt, Ray, and Lamar) and 4 sisters (Mildred, Alvis, Agnes, and Verna Mae) and her daughter Debbie Young Wright. She is survived by her husband Larry Otis Thomas, sister Gypsy Thomas of Alabaster, AL.., brother in law Gene Patterson of Alabaster, AL., son Don and his wife Debra of Fort Worth, TX., step daughter Stacey King and her daughter Abigail King of Douglasville, GA., niece Bessie Mae and her husband John Peters of Fort Worth, TX., great niece Tammy Kolar and her husband JR of Fort Worth, TX., several brother and sister in laws, and grandchildren. She and Larry were married June 14, 2003. They were such a loving and sweet couple, they enjoyed 13 years of marital bliss. They were lucky to have found each other later in life and you always saw the love between them! She had a career in retail for many years while she still lived in Ft. Worth before moving back to Alabama. She always had a smile on her face even in the times of adversity! She loved life, her family and, she will be greatly missed each and everyday!!! Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Indian Springs First Baptist Church in Pelham, Alabama with Rev Charlie Dale and Rev Clark Skelton officiating.
