Violet (Vicky) McCreary

Mrs. Violet (Vicky) June McCreary 81, of Moberly, Missouri, formerly of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Friday 5 January 2018 in San Pedro, CA. She was born 11 February 1936 in Reed City, Michigan the daughter of the late George Lawrence Tuttle and Thelma Irene Tuttle (nee Lucas). She accepted the Lord as a teenager and upon completing High School she spent the next year as a missionary with the General Baptist Conference organization called God's Invasion Army which ministered in the USA and Canada assisting churches that requested their services by conducting youth meetings, Sunday Schools, surveys and other things. She then attended the Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois and became a registered nurse. She attended St. Louis Christian College for a part of a semester, which has remained one of her favorite charities through the years. She later completed her Ph.D. in Health and Wellness. She was active in all the congregations and chapels that she and her husband, Stanley McCreary, ministered to in civilian and military life. Many lives were touched by her life and ministries. As a mother, she taught with love, discipline, and humor. She welcomed all whom she met with love and a caring spirit, always ready to listen to the person's story without judgment. She had a joyous engaging smile and her melodious laughter brightened those around her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, June Ailean McCreary and great grand-daughter Kaitlyn Caldwell. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Howard McCreary of Moberly, MO, whom she married on September 16, 1960; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven (Tammy) McCreary, Lare (Amy) McCreary;brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen (Kathy) Tuttle of Tustin, MI, Rex Tuttle of Luther, MI, George (Gaye) Tuttle of Tustin, MI; sister, Joan Rietdyk of Grand Haven, MI; grandchildren, Anne (Tyler) Holt, Nicole (Chris) Walker, Raphael (Kara) Huth, Donnie (Kaity) Latlippe and Christopher (Danielle) Latilippe, Lauran McCreary, Ian McCreary, Preston McCreary, and Julian McCreary; great grandchildren, Alexis Murray, Payton Nimtz, Parker Latlippe, Paxton Latlippe, Kanyen Ledget, Jasmin Walker, Kaylean Walker, Brent Walker, Steven Walker and Brysen Huth; brother’s-in-law, Michael (Letty) McCreary of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis (Tina) McCreary of Bristol, WI and Timothy (Michele) McCreary of Villa Rica, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, January 12, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Mrs. McCreary will lie in state Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM at Villa Rica Christian Church. Funeral Services will be conducted, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Villa Rica Christian Church with Dr. Bill Walton officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Timber Lake Christian Church, 1624 Gratz-Brown St., in Moberly, MO.
