Mr. Virgil Barber, age 85, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center following an extended illness. He was born December 24, 1923 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Jim Barber and the late Mrs. Minnie Teal Barber. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Barber was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Villa Rica. He retired as a machinist in the textile industry. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Allen Barber on November 25, 2008. Mr. Barber is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and John Fincher of Douglasville; his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Brenda Barber of Destin, FL: 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 10, 2009 at 2:30 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Eddie Allen and Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Mr. Patrick Henrickson and Mr. Frank Richardson. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. The family is receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
