Virginia Abernathy

Mrs. Virginia Marie Palmer Abernathy, age 76, of Douglasville, passed away, Monday, October 29, 2012. She was born August 26, 1936 in Gainesville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Arvil Kenneth Palmer and the late Mrs. Nellie Kate Palmer. She was a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Abernathy. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Shelia and Timmy Buice of Douglasville, Sherry Jewell of Kingsland; sons, Michael Abernathy of Douglasville, Mark Abernathy of Douglasville; sisters, Linda McCoy of Douglasville, Jeanette Weldon of Dallas; brother, Robert L. Palmer of Carrollton; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1;00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor James Green officiating.
