Mrs. Virginia George Hicks, 92, of Dallas, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 3, 1921 in Villa Rica, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Richard Alphonsos George and the late Mrs. Georgia Lee Tuggle George Parson. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family. She loved teaching and children. She was a devoted member of New Georgia Baptist Church and was dedicated to daily bible study and prayer. She enjoyed writing inspirational stories. She was blessed with a wonderful family, many friends and her church family. She was called Mama, Grandmother and âAunt Ginnyâ by hundreds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. âDunkâ Hicks; sister, Nevada George; and brothers, Roy George, Bill George, Rev. Horace George, and Bud George. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne Woodall, Judy Leggett, and Barbara and Ray Andrews all of Dallas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jane Hicks and Dennis and Linda Hicks all of Dallas; three sisters, Shirley Sullivan of Dallas, Lindel Agan of Villa Rica, and Martha Waters of Andrews, SC; sisters-in-law, Betty George of Dallas, Rev. Frances George of Douglasville, Minnie George of Rockmart, and Jean Hicks Lindsey of Dallas; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; twenty great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Monday, December 23, 2013 at New Georgia Baptist Church from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Georgia Baptist Church with Dr. James R. Burdette, Rev. Jerry Hollis and her Deacon, Charles Bice officiating. Interment will follow at New Georgia Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Eli Hicks, Dalton Hicks, Wade Brown, Ethan Hicks, Jonathan Gardner, and Joseph Mauldin.
