Mr. W. Lowell Jordan, 70, of Douglasville passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia from injuries received in an automobile accident on August 31st in Griffin, GA. He was born April 10, 1937 in Anniston, Alabama the son of the late Mr. Hewlett Jordan and the late Mrs. Lavada Gertrude Cheatwood Jordan. He married Mary Ann Mitchell November 25, 1970. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. Mr. Jordan lived in White Plains, AL until 1991 when he moved to Douglasville, GA. He retired from M&H Valve, Anniston, AL in 1991 after 32 years of devoted service. After retiring he started a family business, Appraisal Solutions in Douglasville, GA, in which he participated until the day of his accident. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a passion for his family especially his wife, children, grandchildren and he enjoyed Alabama Football and his time spent on the golf course. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hewlett Jordan and Lavada Gertrude Cheatwood Jordan, his brothers, Jerry Cheatwood Jordan and James Arlin Jordan, and his sister, Yvonne Jordan Garmon. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Mitchell Jordan, Four sons, David Keith Jordan, New Orleans, LA, Donnie Wayne Jordan, White Plains, Al, Gene N. Butler, Jr. and Michael Landon Jordan of Douglasville, GA. Two daughters, Deborah Lynn Jordan Biggers, Muscadine, Al, Suzanne Jordan Monfra, New Orleans, LA. Four grandsons, Marty Wayne Jordan White Plains, AL, Bradley Justin Burns, Chosea Springs, Al, Matthew Treavor Biggers and Aaron Trace Biggers, Muscadine, AL Six granddaughters, Candice Lynn Jordan and Brittany Brooks, White Plains, AL, Holly Jordan Monfra, and Taylor Suzanne Monfra, New Orleans, LA, Savannah Paige Jordan and Jordanna Elise Butler, Douglasville, GA. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 14, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church on Prestley Mill Road in Douglasville, GA with Dr. John Pennington officiating. Mr. Jordan will lie in state at the church Friday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. A graveside service and burial will be at Iron City Cemetery in Iron City, Alabama at 4 pm (CST). Pallbearers will be, Bradley Burns, Marty Wayne Jordan, Martin Truman Mitchell, Jr., Allan Franklin Mitchell, Delmer Bowen and Michael Newcombe. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jones Wynn Funeral Home on Midway Road in Douglasville, GA. Messages of condolences to the family may be sent from www.jones-wynn.com.
