W. Kenneth Wade

December 14, 1935 — April 5, 2025

Douglasville, Georgia

Wedford Kenneth Wade, affectionately known as Ken, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born on December 14, 1935, in Winder, Georgia, to the late Mr. Bill Wade and the late Mrs. Ruby Healan Wade.

Ken was a dedicated service tech for 3M Technology Platforms for many years, where he was known for his hardworking nature and strong work ethic. He grew up in Athens, Georgia, where he graduated from University of Georgia High School and then attended University of Georgia and Truett McConnell College . Outside of his professional life, he enjoyed various hobbies, particularly woodworking, restoring cars, collecting toy trains, and Sunday afternoon rides on Georgia’s backroads, activities that provided him both joy and a creative outlet.

He was a Christian, family-oriented man, who loved the Lord and was deeply devoted to his loved ones. Ken's proudest accomplishment was his enduring marriage to his beloved wife, Myra, which spanned two months shy of 67 years, as well as his children and grandchildren. His jovial personality was always able to bring a smile to those around him. Ken's contributions and presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Wade, and J.W. (Henrietta) Wade.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Myra Wade; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy (Chris) Eaton; son and daughter-in-law, Andy (Christy) Wade; brother and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Ellen) Wade, and Marguerite Wade; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn (Wesley) Cooper; six grandchildren, Caleb Eaton, Emily Eaton, Noah Eaton (fiance Stephanie Cardell), Eryn Eaton (Yudi Narine), Makayla Wade, and Micah (Lindsey) Wade; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
