Walter Marvin Hickox

Mr. Walter Marvin Hickox, age 75, of Stenger Road, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Douglasville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Douglasville, Georgia. He was born September 26, 1932 in Polk County, Florida, the son of the late Mr. Charles Johnathan Hickox and the late Mrs. Josephine Griffin Hickox. Mr. Hickox worked for over 23 years and retired from Eastern Airlines as an aircraft mechanic. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served for four years during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hickox enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Mrs. Ruby Stockhoff Hickox of Douglasville; his daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Alan Fainn of Douglasville and Lisa and Gary Tersinar of Ashland City, Tennessee; his son and daughter-in-law, Marvin William and Chong Hickox of California City, California; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie Grace and Donald Rowe of Orange Park, Florida and Derrell and David Baggs of Middleburg, Florida; his brother, Brother Julian Hickox of Slidel, Louisiana; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 9, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Monday, September 8, 2008 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
