Mr. Walter Myers, age 80, of Douglasville, passed away, Friday, September 28, 2018. He was born April 11, 1938 in Seneca, SC, the son of the late Mr. Albert Monroe Myers and the late Mrs. Lola Mae Morris Myers.Mr. Myers retired from Cobb County Schools and Douglas County Schools after serving as a custodian for many years. He loved fishing, flowers, hunting, planting and working. He was a hardworking man. Mr. Myers was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lether Mae Collins Myers; son, Walter Myers, Jr.; siblings, Robert Myers, Velma Myers, William Myers, Otis Myers, Tom Myers, Troy Myers and Juanita Causey. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Dewitt Roper of Douglasville, Felicia Perren of Akron, OH, Linda and Donnie Gantt of Buchanan, Peggy and Michael Leonard of Douglasville, Debbie and Cruz Rodriquez of Helena; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Myers of Carrollton, Reginald and Denise of Dallas; sisters, Dot Matthews of South Carolina, Minnie Duvall of South Carolina; brothers, Eugene Myers of South Carolina and Raymond Myers of South Carolina; eighteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, friend, and aunt, Darlene Myers of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will received friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, October 1, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church in Douglasville with Rev. Pastor David Gilbert and Dr. Gary Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
