Walter Reid Wingate

Mr. Walter Reid Wingate, age 84 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born December 10, 1935 in Charlotte, North Carolina the son of the late Mr. James Russell Wingate and the late Mrs. Mary Reid Wingate. Mr. Wingate enjoyed playing golf, singing, playing music and being in the choir at church. He was a woodworker also. Mr. Wingate was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Joyce Wingate Mainz. Mr. Wingate is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Doris Wingate of Douglasville, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Beth Wingate of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mike and Paulina Wingate of Concord, North Carolina, La Don Wingate of Douglasville, Georgia, Russell Wingate of Douglasville, Georgia; four grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Jessica and Grayson; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM from First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM from First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville with Rev. Andrew Dickerson officiating.
