Wilbur Humphries

Mr. Wilbur N. Humphries, age 87, of Temple, Georgia passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. He was born March 24, 1926 in Fulton County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Ben W. Humphries and the late Mrs. Ethel Ola Bruce Humphries. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. Mr. Humphries retired from Lockheed-Martin as a supervisor. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Davenport Humphries on July 25, 2009; son-in-law, Charles Richard Allen; sisters, Frances Richards and Laura L. Broome. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Denise and Johnny Walker of Buchanan and Donna Allen of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Sheila Humphries of Carrollton; brothers and a sister-in-law, James Humphries of Smyrna and Thomas and Linda Humphries of Mableton; five grandchildren, John Wesley Walker, Jr. and his wife, Misty of Buchanan, Steven Paul Walker and his wife, Julie of Bremen, James Paul Harvell of Tallapoosa, William Darrell Harvell of Carrollton and Mike Walker of Buchanan; six great grandchildren, Kori Walker of Tallapoosa, Kayla Heard of Buchanan, Kaci Brooke Walker of Buchanan, Jayden Paul Walker of Bremen, Abigail Jacelyn Walker of Bremen and Ava Camille Harvell of Tallapoosa; one great-great grandchild, Addelyn Grace Wooten; and several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Monday, August 5, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Bishop John Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Funeral Honors will be provided by members of the United States Navy Honor Guard.
