Willa Dean Barrow Wilson

Mrs. Willa Dean Barrow Wilson, age 88 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021. She was born May 29, 1932 in Cleburne County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. Reedie Othel Barrow and the late Mrs. Lula Mable Johnson Barrow. Mrs. Wilson was a 1949 graduate of Roopville Georgia High School where she loved to play basketball. She was a Southern Bell switch board operator for several years. On September 3, 1954, she married the love of her life, Rev. Horace Wilson, who passed away May 4, 2020. She loved people, her church, shopping in downtown Carrollton, a good friend to many and loved sharing Jesus to everyone. Proverbs 31, she was a very faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Wilson was a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Horace Wilson; brothers and sister-in-law, Durell and Dorothy Barrow, Rance Barrow; brother-in-law, Davis Laney. Mrs. Wilson is survived by daughters and sons-in-laws, Denise and Rickey Bice of Hiram, Georgia, Janet and Kevin Kersey of Villa Rica, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sherry Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia, Don Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia; sister, Carolyn Laney of Carrollton, Georgia; sisters-in-laws, Bonnie Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia, Parnell Barrow of Bowdon, Georgia; eleven grandchildren, Nathan and Michelle Bice of South Dakota, Seth and Katie Bice of Dallas, Georgia, Leah and Jon Brothers of Sarasota, Florida, Phillip Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia, Kelly and Brad Smith of Bremen, Georgia, Ryan and Brianna Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia, Jeffery Wilson of Carrollton, Georgia, Alix and Chris Fincher of Villa Rica, Georgia, Aimee Kersey of Atlanta, Georgia, Anna Kersey of New York, Ben Kersey of Villa Rica, Georgia; seventeen great grandchildren, Jennifer, Lane, Jay, Hannah, Elizabeth, Jacob, Evan, Ella Grace, Owen, Lily, Abby, Moriah, Katelynn, Elena, Stella, Jett, Cora; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM from Shady Grove Baptist Church, 1293 SandHill Shady Grove Road, Carrollton, Georgia 30116 with Rev. Terry Butler, Rev. Kevin Kersey, and Rev. Michael White officiating. She will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
