Willard Maxwell Davidson, Jr.

Mr. Willard Maxwell Davidson, Jr. , 73, of Carrollton, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Mr. Davidson was born June 12, 1950, the son of the late Willard Maxwell Davidson, Sr., and Wanda Lindsey Davidson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marty Davidson, and his sister Jenny Wickham.

Survivors include his wife, the former Pam Cole, whom he married on June 9, 1973, at Villa Rica First Baptist Church; two children, Marcie (Chris) Calhoun of Villa Rica and Corey (Meghan) Davidson of Decatur, GA; grandchildren Cole Davidson, Parker Davidson, Lizzie Davidson, Evan Calhoun, Julia Calhoun; sisters Margy Crawford; brother Michael (Arlene) Davidson, both of Carrollton, and nephew Tommy Ridley of Carrollton. 

Mr. Davidson was a 1968 graduate of Villa Rica High School. He worked for many years in the Engineering and Maintenance Department at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. He loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. The grandchildren called him “Poppy,” and they were the light of his life. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, racing and shooting pool. He was a devoted Wildcat fan and loved anything related to Villa Rica High School. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with family and friends and playing golf with his buddies.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica from 11:00 AM  until 1:00 PM.  The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2024 in the Villa Rica Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral with Dr. Jerry Brown , Chris Jeffers and Chad Eason officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens. 

The following will serve as pallbearers:  Davis Morgan, Joe Richardson, Mike Whitlock, Tommy Ridley, Kyle Eason, Chris Wilson and Noell Wilson.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Villa Rich High School Athletics and Flat Rock Baptist Church.
