Mr. William âBenâ Towers, age 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, January 22, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born October 7, 1927 in Hazlehurst, Georgia the son of the late Mr. William Scotty Towers and the late Mrs. Aleph Girtman Towers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church in Sparta, Georgia and worked as the Vice President for Moran and Company for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Williams Towers of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Towers Bateman and Nathan Bateman of Hampton, Patricia Ann Towers Hubbs and Bruce Hubbs of Florence, SC; two step-children, Shelia and Scott Watkins of Villa Rica and Johnny Meek of Stockbridge; 5 grandchildren, Ty Bateman, Kristie Bateman, David Hubbs, Daniel Hubbs, and Anna Grace Hubbs; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at Ephesus Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
