Mr. William Franklin Schell, age 71, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011. He was born January 29, 1939 in Freedom, PA. the son of the late Mr. Carl Schell and the late Mrs. Lillian Copper Schell. Mr. Schell worked twenty years in civil service as assistant Fire Chief and Safety Officer at Fort McPherson and Fort Gilliam. He was retired from the United State Air Force having served twenty years at various bases in the United States, Great Brittain and Vietnam. He loved going to yard sales, antiquing, and restoring old cars, old clocks, and model trains. He attended the St. Phillips Benizi Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife, Billie Warhurst Schell of Jonesboro; daughters, Wendy Schneider of Douglasville, Carlene McCarty of Douglasville, Maxine Alexander of Hiram; sisters, Nancy Swartz, Beverly Stowe, Jean Barger;step-son, Curtis Williams; step-daugher, Pamela Winn; thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 7:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Glenn Gilmore officiating. Inurnment will be conducted Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
