William Brackin

Mr. William Gerald Brackin, age 70, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013. He was born September 14, 1942 in Dothan, Alabama the son of the late Mr. Joseph Renalda Brackin and the late Mrs. Bobbie Louise Garner Brackin. He married Annie Laurie Martin on August 21, 1965 in Atlanta. He retired from Cornwell Tools where he worked as a salesman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and woodworking. Mr. Brackin was a member of Douglasville Baptist Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Brackin. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Annie Laurie Martin Brackin of Douglasville; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and James Patterson of Corbin City, NJ; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Wendy Brackin of Douglasville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Priscilla and John Cheek of Acworth; and Patricia Moore of Blackshear; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Carol Brackin of Villa Rica; six grandchildren, Bailey, Maddox, Dashel, Paul, Cana, and Geneva; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Neal Beard officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Michael Coward and Gale Golder. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The following will serve as pallbearers: Mr. Albert Bullard, Mr. Jerry Bullard, Mr. Marcello Chaves, Mr. John Cheek, Mr. Rick Foust, Mr. Gregory Hinton, Mr. Marty Hinton, and Mr. Brian Moore. Flowers accepted or those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions in memory of Mr. William Brackin to the Douglasville Baptist Temple, Mission Fund, Post Office Box 6958, Douglasville, Georgia 30154.
