William Burke

Mr. William Allen Burke, age 69, of Douglasville, passed away, Tuesday, December 15, 2015. He was born May 27, 1946 in Anniston, AL the son of the late Mr. Virgil Woodrow Burke and the late Mrs. Willodean Adams Burke. Mr. Burke retired from Lockhead after 25 years as a tool planner. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Alabama football fan. Mr. Burke never met a stranger and loved his grandchildren very much. He was a member of Weaver Congregational Methodist Church in Weaver, AL. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Brady Burke of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Eugene Obermeyer of Douglasville; sisters and brother-in-law, Ina Borders of Douglasville, Glenda Dickey of Douglasville, Velva and Marvin Brown of Anniston, AL; twin brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Sally Burke of Anniston, AL; two grandchildren, Draper Obermeyer and Katarina Obermeyer of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Friday, December 18, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Chaplain Debbie Wells officiating. Graveside Services will be conducted Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:30 PM Eastern at Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, AL. Interment will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, AL.
