William Daniel Burns

William Daniel Burns, 93, of Villa Rica, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1929. He is the son of the late Willis Burns and the late Mildred Bowers Burns.

Mr. Burns was a veteran of the US Army. He played the trumpet in the US Army Band. Mr. Burns lived a very active life. He enjoyed sailing, boating, and acquired his captains license and also his pilot’s license. He was a long time employee of IBM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Lois Diehl Burns, son, William Daniel Burns and his brother Donald Burns. He is survived by his daughters and son in law, Carol Vetra of Villa Rica, Georgia, Sharon and Bruce Grosse of Stuart, Florida; son and daughter in law, John and Lali Burns of Toms River, New Jersey; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Presbyterian Church in Villa Rica. The final burial of his cremains will be held in the spring of 2023 in Lilthgo , NY.
