Mr. William Edward Townsend, age 64, of Hiram, Georgia passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1945 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Mr. George Edward Townsend and the late Mrs. Eva Dorothea Hyre Townsend. Mr. Townsend was a member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam. Mr. Townsend worked as a welder at Ford Motor Company. He was devoted to God, an avid fisherman, a dedicated family man, and a beloved husband and father. In addition to his parents, Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lauren Brooke Logan. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iris Jean Anderson Townsend of Hiram; his daughters and son-in-law, Dorthey and Charles Mocha of Dallas, Eva Townsend of Temple, Franziska Townsend of Lithia Springs and Paula Logan of Douglasville; his sons and daughter-in-law, William Townsend, II of Covington and George and Nikki Townsend of Cleveland, Tennessee; his sister, Sharron Eva Dellavecchia; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica with Rev. Kenny Ott officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Gethsemane at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia.
