Mr. William Eugene Croft, age 88, of Bremen, Georgia, formerly of Douglasville and Powder Springs, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born March 25, 1919 in Marietta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Clyde Henry Croft and the late Mrs. Minnie Pearl Wilson Croft. He married Lillian Irene Ogle on June 24, 1941 in Atlanta. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Croft was an automobile mechanic and truck driver. He was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church in Temple where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Gayla Pollard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mrs. Lillian Irene Ogle Croft of Bremen; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rev. Johnnie Simpson of Bremen; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Ronnie and Judy Croft of Bowdon; sisters, Ann Honea and Bernice Sanders both of Atlanta; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
