William Frank McPherson, Sr.

Mr. William Frank McPherson Sr., 94, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 following a brief illness. Mr. McPherson was born December 6, 1913 to the late Willey and Stella McPherson of Villa Rica. He accepted Christ at the age of 13 and as long as his health permitted, attended the First Pentecostal Church of Villa Rica. Mr. McPherson was known as an enthusiastic Atlanta Braves fan and avid gardener and loved caring for his livestock on his farm. He was a wonderful father, friend, and patriot. He retired from the United States Navy where he worked as an aircraft electrician during WWII. He was a member of the VFW# 072 and was a Emeritus Member of the Villa Rica Masonic Lodge #72 F&AM and his favorite colors were Red White and Blue. He was also preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings, his beloved wife, Nadine and two precious children, a daughter Dell and a son William Frank, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Robyn, Grandchildren, Sheila and Randy Cornell, Carla and Thomas Ray, William Frank III and Helen McPherson and John McPherson Great Grandchildren, Brittany and Kimberly Ray, Taylor and Gage Cornell, daughter in-law, Polly McPherson, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Thomas and Betty Morrow and Brother Bubba Ray. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday February 18, 2008 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn, Villa Rica, Georgia. Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday February 17, 2008 from 2:00PM until 5:00PM and on Monday from 9:00AM until the funeral hour.Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
