William H. Weaver, Jr.

Mr. William Hilbert Weaver, Jr., 70, of Boyd Road, Villa Rica, Georgia formerly of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. He was born June 6, 1937 in Morgan County, Alabama the son of the late Mr. William Hilbert Weaver, Sr. and the late Mrs. Zona Susie Maybell Mason Weaver. He married Janell Chadwick Gorton on March 14, 1969 in Smyrna, Georgia. He was a member of Sweet Gum Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff. He retired as a maintenance supervisor having worked at Blue Circle Cement Company in Atlanta for over 23 years. He previously owned Georgia Gold Stone Company in Mineral Bluff, Georgia and Weaver Sanitation in Murphy, North Carolina. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Ted Gorton; daughter, JuJuana Weaver; and brother, LaFayette Weaver. He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Janell Chadwick Weaver of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Jackie Driver of Douglasville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Anissa Weaver of Villa Rica, Richard and Stacey Weaver of Jenkinsburg, and Cindy Gorton of Mineral Bluff; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Weaver Smith and Goin Smith of Eva, AL, Elaine Weaver Bennett of Danville, AL; sister-in-law, Ruth Falls of Eva, AL; 6 grandchildren, Jason Weaver, Richard Driver, Janean Driver, Danny Gorton, Karlie Weaver, and Chad Weaver; 3 great-grandchildren, Dakota Driver, Cierra Driver and Bailey Weaver; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Tim Collett and Dr. Jerry Brown officiating. Mr. Weaver will lie in state at Sweet Gum Baptist Church on Friday, January 18, 2007 from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Graveside Service will be conducted Friday at 4:00 PM at the Sweet Gum Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Andrew Chadwick, Mike Collins, Jamie Chadwick, Ricky Weaver, Wayne Bennett, and Scott Oden. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Northcut, John Miller, Elmer Smith, Roger Bentley, and Tommy Dupree. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
