William Haney

Mr. William “Bill” Jefferson Haney, II, age76, of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born February 28, 1941 in Douglasville, the son of the late Mr. William Jefferson Haney, Sr. and the late Mrs. Della Shead Haney. Mr. Haney served in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from a 43 year career in banking, lastly at Bank of America. Mr. Haney was a loving father, enjoyed fishing, GA Tech Football, working in the yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member at Beulah Baptist Church, where he previously served in many areas such as teaching Sunday School and helping in the youth department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Pointer, Jackie Marbut, Evelyn Parson, Mary Agnes Reid, Willie Jewell Brawner, and Lounell Browning. He is survived by his wife, Martha Weathington Haney of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Tony Leonard of Douglasville, Mandy and Zach Ardis of Commerce; sister, Opal Harmon of Winston; brother-in-law, Fred and Hilda Weathington of Douglasville; six grandchildren, Katie Leonard, Sydney Ardis, Ethan Ardis, Bailee Leonard, Miah Ardis, and Miles Ardis. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Overton and Pastor Terry Pearman officiating.
