William “Bill” Clay Jones, Jr., 70, of Winston, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on March 14, 2026. Born December 2, 1955, in Carrollton, GA, he was the son of the late William Clay Jones, Sr. and Penny Huey Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved twin sister, Barbara Kay Jones.
Bill will be remembered for his sharp, often sarcastic sense of humor and the gentle, sensitive heart behind it. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, listening to music, and watching documentaries about history, especially World War II.
He was also a proud former member of the Carroll County Community Theatre, where he cherished the friendships he made and deeply appreciated the encouragement and camaraderie of fellow members.
Above all, Bill’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Tiemersma (Doug) of Winston; granddaughter, Payton Clements (Jon Santala); great-granddaughter, Sophia Harris, of Villa Rica; sisters Elizabeth “Bay” Teague (Larry) of Bremen and Khaki Jones (Jeff Adams) of Los Angeles, CA; and nephew Alex Teague of Bremen, GA.
He was also fondly devoted to his beloved pets who passed before him—Socks, Smokey, Sally, and Sofie. They brought him endless companionship and happiness, and it comforts those who loved him to imagine a joyful reunion with them one day.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or local humane society.
A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
Messages of condolence may be sent to www.jones-wynn.com. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home & Crematory of Douglasville is in charge of the arrangements. (770-942-2311)
