William C. Murdock, 79, of Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on July 10, 1944. He is the son of the late William Henry Murdock and Susan Ellen Todd Murdock. William led a remarkable life full of accomplishments and shared joy. His departure leaves behind a void that will be felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He selflessly served his country as a proud member of the US Army. His commitment to upholding the values of duty and honor were evident in every aspect of his life. William spent his career working in industrial construction management at various locations across the country. He was a hard worker and he consistently displayed his commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional endeavors, William was deeply devoted to his faith and actively engaged with the Grace Covenant Church community. Holding memberships both as an active member and as a board member he found great solace and strength in his spirituality. Through his involvement, he fostered connections with fellow congregants and played an integral role in the church.
Family held a special place in William's heart, cherishing each moment spent with loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Elliot Murdock, with whom he shared 40 years of unconditional love and shared adventures.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Aaron Murdock, Charlie Murdock and William Murdock
William leaves behind cherished memories for his children: Anthony (Pamela) Murdock of Shawnee, Kansas, Daniel (Chasity) Murdock of Carrollton, and Chad (Michelle) Phillips of Villa Rica; daughters Leigh Staples and Marsha Hulstine, both residing in Carrollton. Additionally, William is survived by his sister Rachel Jarvis of Cowpens, South Carolina.
The legacy of William Murdock extends even further through the generations he leaves behind his grandchildren Zack Murdock, Tiffany Murdock, Kimberly Hubbard, Ethan Phillips, Shi Phillips, Clancy Phillips, and Caroline Hulstine. Moreover, his great-grandchildren Tucker Murdock, Cru Murdock, Grayson Hubbard, and Noah Hubbard. William was immensely grateful for the companionship of special friends Dale and Leslie Carver of Carrollton. In addition to his immediate family and close friends listed above, William leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.
The family will have a celebration of life at Grace Covenant Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
The loss of William C. Murdock will be felt deeply by all those who encountered his compassionate nature, unwavering work ethic, and genuine warmth. He touched the lives of many with his kindness.
