Mr. William “Leslie” Russell, age 72, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was born September 2, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Mr. William Henry Russell and the late Mrs. Annette Russell. He was a class of 1969 graduate of Southwest High School. He married the love of his life, Susan Russell, on March 1, 1980. He retired from Steven’s Graphics in 2001. Leslie was a devoted and loving husband, father, Papa, brother, son, uncle, and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, and Alabama football, but his greatest joys were his three girls and his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, and he never missed an opportunity to show them how much he loved them.
Leslie is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dennis Lee Russell; in-laws, Jack and Betty Richards; his son-in-law, Daniel Willis; his niece, Alexandra Richards, and Christopher “Fif” Traylor. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his three daughters, Jennifer Graham (Crystal), Natalie (Mike) Brookshire, and Candice Willis; sister, Layne (Tim) Keith; sisters-in-law, Martha Jo Russell, Lisa (Anthony) Mugnolo, and Jacque (John) McGraw; his grandchildren, Chloe, Parker, Cooper, William, Presley, Henry, Anabelle, Charlee, Russell, Charlotte, and Azpyn; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Caleb, Kristi, Rusty, Cody, Jane, Jack, and Jake; his chosen family, Michael and Lynne Traylor, Natalie (Mason) Tritt, and Melissa (Kyle) Walker; several great nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica, GA.
Flowers are accepted; however, contributions can also be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
