William Stoney Shamblee

Mr. William Stoney Shamblee, Sr., age 85 of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, December 18, 2020. He was born May 15, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Forrest G. Shamblee and the late Mrs. Bessie Sealey Shamblee. Mr. Shamblee proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and with Mableton Lodge #171. He loved football and was a big Georgia Tech Fan, watching the Braves, westerns, fishing and bowling. Mr. Shamblee was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Forrest Shamblee; sister, Matilda (Tilley) Harris. Mr. Shamblee is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Carolyn Lee Shamblee of Lithia Springs, Georgia; sons, William S. Shamblee, Jr. of Dallas, Georgia, Charles Alan Shamblee of Douglasville, Georgia; sister, Faye Patterson of Powder Springs, Georgia; three grandchildren, William Randall Shamblee of Temple, Georgia, Heather Lacoste of Tallapoosa, Georgia, Savannah Nichole Shamblee of Paulding County; one great grandchild, Jason Lacoste; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Atlanta, Georgia with Bro. Jimmy Garrett officiating.
