William Zachmeyer

Mr. William Duker Zachmeyer, age 80, of Sandhill Hickory Level Road, Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. He was born February 13, 1939 in Burlington, IA the son of the late Mr. Russell Henry Zachmeyer and the late Mrs. Mary Josephine Duker Zachmeyer. Mr. Zachmeyer served in the United States Airforce. He volunteered with his community, serving with the fire department, communities and recreation department and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He was an avid train lover at heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Catherine Zachmeyer and brother, Russell Zachmeyer.He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Shanda Zachmeyer of Douglasville, Jeff Zachmeyer of Dallas, C.J. and Jennifer Zachmeyer of Carrollton; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Lee Letchford of Carefree, AZ; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Barbara Zachmeyer of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Tate, Maisie, Cari, Amberlee, Jeffery, Ashlee, Brandon, Cole and Halle; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Mass will be conducted Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Carrollton with Father Mario Lopez officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
