Willie Mae Allen, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on June 1, 2024. She was born on April 18, 1945, in Madison, Georgia, to the late Mr. Willie Lee Allen and the late Mrs. Ada Allen.
Those who were fortunate enough know Willie Mae will remember her as a hard worker who never hesitated to sacrifice for her family. She played a significant role in helping raise her younger siblings alongside her mother. Her selfless nature shone through in everything she did, always putting others' needs before her own. Willie's loving and kind-hearted personality, combined with her heart of gold and easy-going demeanor, made her a pillar of strength for her family.
Willie also entered the nursing field having pursued college education in nursing. She worked at Nurse Care of Buckhead for over 40 years. In addition to her passion for nursing, Willie had a love for gardening flowers and plants. Among her proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in shopping for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love and gifts. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting the beach, with Panama City, Florida holding a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Willie is preceded in death by her daughter, Vanessa Gay; brother, Willie Paul Allen; sister, Thessaloina Chester.
Willie is survived by her sons, Deimeyon Allen and Antione Allen; daughter, Tomika Allen; grandchildren, Jeremy Rogers, Pontius Gay IV, Porsha Gay, Jasmine Gay, Solomon Gay, Noah Gay, Xavier Allen, and Mikal Davis; great-grandchildren, Sydni Gay, Jamison Gay, Annisten Gay, Langston Gay, Amelia Gay-Rahim, Michael Wicker, and Pontius Gay V; brothers, Caesar Allen, Hugh Allen, Leo Allen, Antonio Allen, and Eli Allen; sisters, Beulah Washington and Rosetta Jacobs; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Roslyn Lena Scott officiating.
