Mrs. Willie Myrl Meeks Cox, 90, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 8, 1924 in Soperton, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Matthew Meeks and the late Mrs. Nannie Lou Gay. She retired as a civilian Intelligence Analyst for the United States Army. She was an avid reader and loved books. She enjoyed racing and traveling. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Cox; daughter, Carolyn Cox; brother, Wilbur Meeks; and sister, Ethylene Capps. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Gayle Cox of Lithia Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Cecil Harvey of Douglasville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Julia Smith of Gray and Marlene and Robbie Johnson of Macon; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Entombment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
